Get OUT and ABOUT with Dad on FATHER'S DAY
Although we should make an effort to honour our parents every day of the year, on Father's Day it's nice to do something even a little more special than usual. Flowers and chocolates and spa certificates may not be the most appropriate or appreciated gifts, however, so here a few other suggestions to put a smile on the face of that important father figure in your life.
GOLF
What better way to enjoy some quality time with Dad while getting some sunshine and exercise, too. There are numerous golf courses in and around the Milton area and plenty of driving ranges, should you need a little practice run first. Also check out golf lessons if you or Dad have never played, or are definitely rusty.
HIKING/WALKING
Whether it's one of the various local Halton Parks such as Kelso, Rattlesnake or Hilton Falls, or simply a stroll along a park or garden path, getting outside and stretching your legs is a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Bring along the entire family and pick a destination, such as a pond or park, or even a restaurant where you can treat Dad to a nice meal.
BOATING
June is a perfect time to get out on the open water with Dad or Grandad, whether it's sailing, powerboating or even canoeing. If you don't have one of your own, check out rentals and lessons. Just remember to always be safe and wear a lifejacket, especially if children are involved!
BICYCLING
It doesn't have to be a race and you don't even have to own an expensive bicycle in order to have a wonderful, relaxing time in your very own town. Or, if you happen to own a bike carrier, toss them on the back of your vehicle and head out to Niagara Region where there are miles and miles of gorgeous trails to explore. Just remember your helmets!
